BERLIN CENTER - David G. Metcalf, 73, of Berlin Center, died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Elizabeth Emergency and Diagnostic Center emergency room in Austintown.
He was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Athens, Ohio, son of the late George and Mary (Stevens) Metcalf.
Mr. Metcalf was a 1959 graduate of Salem High School. He had worked as a baker for the Baker Union and served in the Army.
His wife, Gayle (Griffiths) Metcalf, whom he married Aug. 23, 1980, preceded him in death Feb. 17, 1998. His stepmother, Edna Metcalf, who raised him, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Kim (Bruce) Dole and Jennifer (Michael) Metcalf Monday of Salem and Debra (Gary) Weber of Washingtonville; a son, Eric (Ashley) Metcalf of Athens; two sisters, Gerry (Jim) Dorsey of Salem and Mary Ann Yarwood of Boardman; two brothers, Chuck and Danny Metcalf, both of Florida; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Calling hours in celebration of his life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home. There are no funeral services, only calling hours.
