HOWLAND - James E. Durk, 61, of North Road SE, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient.
Mr. Durk was born July 16, 1952 in Salem, a son of the late Andrew and Lillian Schockey Durk, and had resided in the East Palestine area until moving to Howland 4 1/2 years ago. He had been employed as a truck driver, and was a 1970 graduate of East Palestine High School.
He is survived by a son, Eric Davis of Darlington, Pa., and a daughter, Jennifer Schaefer of East Palestine; and four grandchildren. Mr. Durk also leaves a brother, Andrew Durk II of East Liverpool and a sister, Christina Durk of Warren.
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, with a service to be conducted by the Rev. Charles Taylor, at the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
