LISBON - A 47-year-old Fairfield Township woman was seriously injured in an ATV accident Saturday near her home.
Karen E. Painter, 47, of Roberts Road, Leetonia, was flown to St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown with serious head injuries after the accident at 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Roberts and Lodge Road.
According to the highway patrol, Cindy Hoy, Miller Road, Leetonia, was driving a car west on Lodge Road. As she neared the intersection with Roberts Road, patrol Sgt. Craig Monte said, the ATV operated by Painter turned from Roberts onto Lodge in front of her.

The two vehicles attempted to avoid each other, Monte said, and the ATV tipped over. The vehicles did not collide and there was no damage to the car, Monte said.
Leetonia Fire/Ems also responded to the scene, as did a STAT Med-Evac helicopter.
The accident is still under investigation.
