Curious George to visit Salem story time
SALEM - Salem Public Library will host a visit from story time character Curious George, created by authors H. A. Rey and Margret Rey, at 6:30 p.m. March 25 or 10 a.m. March 29 in the Quaker Room at 821 E. State St. There will be a story and activity, and each child will receive an autographed photo of themselves with George. No registration is required.

Sinus Treatment topic at program
BOARDMAN - Otolaryngologist Wayland Wong, M.D. will present a free educational program, "New Trends in Sinus Treatment, " at 7 p.m. April 1 at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave. At 6:30 p.m., participants can view displays and complete a paper sinus screening assessment. Light refreshments will be provided. Participants will have an opportunity to register for door prizes that may be helpful in providing sinus symptom relief. Spring auction planned in Salineville
SUMMITVILLE - CrossRoads Council 13371 Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a spring auction at 6:30 p.m. April 4 at St. John's social hall at 16017 Smith Road. Blood screening offered in North Lima
NORTH LIMA - Area residents can learn more about their health by participating in a comprehensive blood screening, sponsored by Salem Regional Medical Center's (SRMC) Laboratory Services and North Lima Care Center on April 5. Screenings will be available by appointment only at North Lima Care Center, a service of SRMC, for $40.
Comprehensive blood screenings can help to identify many health problems in their earliest stages, when they are most treatable, and may detect conditions such as high cholesterol, anemia and other disorders.
Participants may add a prostate specific antigen (PSA) screening to their comprehensive panel for an additional $10; or an HgA1C diabetes screening for an additional $25. A lipid profile only, which measures cholesterol levels and is included in the comprehensive screening, is also available for $10.
