'Fly-by' ham dinner set at First Friends
SALEM - The public is invited to the "fly-by" carryout dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. March 20, or until sold out, at the First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave. The menu offers glazed ham loaf, cheesy potatoes, seasoned green beans, roll and homemade cake. Breakfast offered at Damascus church
DAMASCUS - The monthly community breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. today at the Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road. The suggested donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10.
'Super Bingo Sunday' set in Columbiana
COLUMBIANA - "Super Bingo Sunday" begins at 2 p.m. April 6 at St. Jude Parish, 180 Seventh St. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for a package containing cards for all regular games. Specials are sold separately. All players receive a free dauber, coffee and pop. A total of $3,400 is available in cash prizes, including a $1,000 guaranteed coverall. 'Chicken drive-by' dinner offered
LEETONIA - The Leetonia United Methodist Church at 50 Lisbon St. will serve its monthly "chicken-drive by" dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. March 20, or until sold out. The meal consists of a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $7. Proceeds are used for the new roof for the church.
Senior outreach set at Damascus Friends
DAMASCUS - Damascus Friends Church, 28857 Walnut St., is announcing a new outreach for the community, its Senior Care Outreach devoted solely for seniors 55 years and older. This is a place where seniors can go to socialize, exercise, play cards, do crafts, fellowship and eat together. This outreach is offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Soup benefit set at Calla church
CANFIELD - Calla Community Church is sponsoring a soup benefit for Stephanie Gearhaart at 4 p.m. March 21, or until sold out, at the church, 6482 W. Calla Road. Gearhaart was in a car accident in September 2013 and is continuing physical rehabilitation therapy at this time.

Mormon general conference televised
ALLIANCE - The 184th semi -annual worldwide General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be broadcast live on April 5 and 6 from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The live broadcast will be received at the Alliance Chapel, 2260 Hedgewood Ave., and the Lisbon Chapel, 7250 Lisbon Road, at noon and 4 p.m. both days. Regular 10 a.m. sacrament service and Sunday school classes will not be held on conference days.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will provide music for conference sessions. The choir's broadcast of "Music and the Spoken Word" will be broadcast live from 11:30 a.m. to noon Sunday.
Thomas S. Monson, president of the church, will speak during the conference and messages will be given by the First Presidency, members of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and other general authorities and general officers of the church.

Rev. Sunberg guest at EP?Nazarene revival
EAST PALESTINE - The Rev. Charles Sunberg will be the guest speaker on March 23-26 at the East Palestine Nazarene Church revival. The public is invited at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday; and 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Rev. Sunberg has served in the ministry for over 20 years in the United States and abroad with his wife, the Rev. Carla Sunberg. They were pioneer missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene to the former Soviet Union, living in Moscow, Russia, for 13 years. While there, he served as field director.
Upon returning to the states, they began their ministry at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne, Ind. A graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary, he serves as superintendent for the East Ohio Nazarene District.
Breakfast offered at North Lima Mennonite
NORTH LIMA - A breakfast buffet is available from 7 to 10 a.m. March 29 at the North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive. Donations will be accepted for the all-you-can-eat meal. Items on the buffet include eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, and beverages.
