SALEM - Millie Ann Gibson, 80, of Salem, died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 19, 1933 in Salem, daughter of the late Nicholas and Florence (Stan) Maier.
Millie was a 1952 graduate of Salem High School. She was a member of the Salem First Friends Church and was very active and involved in church functions. She and her late husband, Roy helped establish the annual chicken BBQ, which raises funds for the Friends Disaster.
Her husband, Roy George Gibson, whom she married July 15, 1955, preceded her in death March 4, 2009. A brother, Nick Maier, Jr. also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Gale Colapietro of Girard, Ohio and Ann Gibson of Bakersfield, California; a sister, Florence Tice of Salem; seven grandchildren, Richard Dow, Connie Geho, Joseph Sullivan, Samuel Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan, Chelsea Carbonell and Joseph Colapietro; and two great-grandchildren, Brendan Sullivan and Johnathan Moline.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Quint Bryan officiating. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the services. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
