Bunker Hill Church to host dinner
SALEM - Bunker Hill United Methodist Church is serving a creamed chicken over biscuit dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, or until sold out, at the church, 15096 W. Middletown Road. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and carryouts.
The Second Harvest Food distribution at the church is slated from 10 a.m. to noon March 14. Attendees are to bring containers.
Glenview decor must be removed
EAST PALESTINE - All flowers and decorations at Glenview Cemetery must be removed by March 17 or they will be discarded. Spring and summer decorations may be placed on the graves beginning April 1. For information call 330-426-4367 Ext. 19.

'Day at the Beach' set at Little Friends
SALEM All pre-school age children are invited to a free "Day at the Beach" from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 19 at the Little Friends Preschool, 1028 Jennings Ave. There will be crafts, activities, refreshments, etc. Reservations are needed by March 14 by callling 330-332-4905.
FCC scholarship applications available
SALEM - Applications are now available for the annual scholarships given by the Columbiana County Federation of Conservation Clubs (CCFCC).
Three $1,000 scholarships will be given to three students who meet the following criteria: eligible for graduation as a high school senior, or currently attending a qualified college, university, technical or vocational school; intend to pursue, or are currently pursuing, a major field of study in agriculture, biology, environmental science, wildlife conservation, or a closely related field of study; and are a resident of Columbiana County. Applications are available at all high school guidance counselors offices in the county, or by calling Tom Butch at 330-337-8444. The application deadline is April 21.
Amateur radio club offering classes
YOUNGSTOWN - The Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club (www.wrarc.net) is offering classes for the entry-level technicians class license. The technicians class is the first of three levels of operating privileges. The general class and amateur extra class are the next two levels. Morse Code is no longer required to obtain a license.
Classes will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at ITT Tech, 1030 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, starting April 2 through April 30. The class will be conducted by an American Radio Relay League registered instructor.

DJFS kicking off child abuse awareness
LISBON The Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services is inviting the public to the annual Child Abuse Prevention Month kick-off event from 11 to 11:30 a.m. April 9 at the gazebo on the square in front of the courthouse, 105 S. Market St. The theme is "Healthy Families." This year's guest speaker is Dr. Karl Getzinger. The third annual "Wear Blue to Work" campaign, showing support to prevent child abuse, will also be held on April 9.
