LISBON - Edward Arthur Roberts, 95, of Elk Avenue, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Vista Center in Lisbon.
He was born Sept. 23, 1918 in West Point, a son of the late Charles W. and Sarah (Heaton) Roberts, he was the last surviving sibling of two sisters and ten brothers.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Belle (Mahoney) Roberts, who died July 17, 2000 after almost 60 years of marriage.
He is survived by his three children, Robert E. (Carla) Roberts of Chino Valley, Ariz., I. Jean (Nick) Bailey of Salem and Trudie G. (Gary) Wedberg of Lisbon. A fourth child, Linda Rae Roberts, died a few months after birth in 1943. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
Mr. Roberts was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, serving in Europe.
He spent his adult life as a resident of Lisbon, Ohio, was a retiree of Kaiser Refractories, and a long-time member of the Lisbon Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services followed by full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Brown officiating. Private burial will take place at the Lisbon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
