ALLIANCE - Thelma M. Greeneisen, 88, of Alliance, passed away on Feb. 16, 2014, at Canterbury Villa in Alliance.
She was born in Minerva on Oct. 26, 1925, the daughter of the late Levi and Ada (Lutz) Simmons.
Thelma enjoyed attending Sebring Friends Church and participating in various church activities, but her most important thing was to spend time with her family.
Survivors include three sons, Russell (Katherine) Greeneisen of Salem, Gary Greeneisen of Westerville and Galen (Pamela) Greeneisen of Alliance; a daughter, Brenda (Keith) Wright of Willoughby; four grandchildren, Mike Greeneisen and Jeff Greeneisen, both of Damascus, Amanda Greeneisen of Canton and Ashley Greeneisen of Alliance; and three great-grandchildren, Skyler, Ragan and Jenna.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death in 1987 by her husband, Russell Greeneisen, whom she married in April of 1945; and by two brothers, Frederick A. Simmons and Russell W. Simmons.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring with Quint Bryan officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and the hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
