LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Tuesday, a March 3 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Michael P. Hazen, 37, Quaker Lane, Salem, charged with a felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor charges of weapons while intoxicated and obstructing official business. Hazen is accused of placing a .380-caliber gun in the trunk of his car, while impaired by alcohol. Witnesses reportedly saw him behind 480 Franklin St. while police were investigating an incident on South Broadway Sunday. During a traffic stop, Hazen reportedly denied several times having any guns in his vehicle. Police reportedly found a gun in the trunk and a loaded magazine for the gun in the crotch area of his clothes.

A Feb. 24 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Laura M. Thornton, 29, Steubenville, charged with possession of drugs and speeding. Thornton is accused of having two one-gallon Ziploc bags of suspected marijuana, weighing just over two pounds, as well as $300 in cash in her wallet, during a traffic stop by the highway patrol on Saturday.

Winfred A. Aderhold, 78, Fink Road, Kensington, was fined $280 for driving in violations of driving restrictions and lane violations.

Shawn D. Tremain, 22, McGeehan Road, Lisbon, was fined $250 for failure to reinstate a license and traffic control devices.

Rachel M. Smith, 35, South Middle Street, Columbiana, was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for allegedly grabbing and striking her husband, Thomas Plecha, on Feb. 12.

David M. Wingett, 58, Hartley Road, Beloit, was fined $150 for equipment violation amended from improper backing.

Kimberley Lauer, 40, Hood Drive, Canfield, was fined $150 for equipment violation amended from speeding.

Mariah Lee Marcino, 19, Stratton, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.

A citation of use of an unauthorized plate was dismissed against James C. Argabrite, 41, Oak Grove Road, Wellsville.

A Feb. 24 pretrial was set for Reginald Odd, 42, Fairview Place, Alliance, cited with theft for allegedly taking a display of 41 Bic Lighters valued at $77 from the Circle K, West State Street, Salem, early on Tuesday.

A Feb. 27 pretrial was set for Brian G. Seau, 33, Ninth Street, Wellsville, charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest for allegedly striking Kayla Seau, his wife, repeatedly in the face and then walking away from Wellsville police on Saturday.

A Feb. 27 pretrial was set for Eugene A. Troyer, 81, Canal Street, East Rochester, cited with assault and resisting arrest for allegedly injuring the hand of Marge Frost and then throwing himself to the floor and pulling away from deputies attempting to arrest him on Saturday.

A March 10 pretrial was set for Amanda M. Fitzgerald, 33, Mineral Ridge, cited with OVI first offense and failure to control.

A March 13 pretrial was set for Joshua Beau Rowland, 30, South Market Street, East Palestine, cited with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, OVI first offense and failure to signal. East Palestine police reportedly found in his vehicle two .22-caliber rifles in a case under some coats between the passenger and driver's seats and a .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun in the glovebox with two boxes of ammunition for each type of gun. The weapons were all found unloaded.

A March 20 pretrial was set for Michael E. Neeld, 26, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, cited with reckless operation.

A March 20 pretrial was set for Hannah E. Louk, 18, Chestnut Street, Leetonia, for theft for allegedly taking $162 in merchandise, which were 31 items and primarily cosmetics, from Walmart without paying.
