Raiders dominate Beaver Local

GREENFORD - The South Range girls basketball team kept Beaver Local in check and cruised to a 72-31 victory on Saturday.

The Raiders, who improved to 17-2 overall, got 14 points apiece from Morgan Czopur and Sara Durr,. Starla Sharp added 12. T

The Raiders led 32-20 at halftime before outscoring the Beavers 41-11 in the second half.

The Beavers (6-13) were led by Danna Talbott with seven points. Tannar Dolhun and Ravenna Cianni each had six..

South Range also won the junior varsity game 47-27.

Taylor Naples led the Raiders with 24 points. Sam Kendall scored 11 for the Beavers.

Both teams are at home on Monday as the Raiders host West Branch and the Beavers host Columbiana.

Salem 46, Niles 36

NILES - The Salem girls basketball team took control in the second quarter and knocked off Niles, 46-36, Saturday.

The Quakers took a 22-16 lead at halftime kept it going in the second half.

Tori Jones scored a game-high 12 points for the Quakers. Julia Dundon added nine.

Salem also won the junior varsity game 39-20. Kasey Jamison led the Quakers with 10 points.

The Quakers will host Canton South on Monday.

NILES: 10-6-10-10-36
