SALEM - Anne Augusta (Benning) Huffer-Copley, 93, of Newport, Tenn. (formerly of Salem, Alliance and Warren, and moved to Newport in 2005), died at the Newport Convalescent Center on Monday, Jan. 27.
She was born on Sept.24, 1920 in Alliance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine (Roth) Benning.
She worked as a Back Stamper in Salem China, and Royal and Lamage China in Sebring, Ohio. She had been a member of the Salem First Christian Church.
She is survived by her children, Gary Huffer of Texas, Diane (Huffer) Ferko of Chandler, Ariz., and Linda (Huffer) Rosberg of Del Rio, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Gary, Hollie, Kevin, Lisa, Cameron, Ursula, Aaron, Kellie, Doug and their families spread across America numbering 15 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert E. Huffer, whom she married in 1939 and who died in 1977, and her second husband, William (Bill) Osborne Copley, whom she married in 1980 and who died in 1984; a grandson, Cameron Ross Culp; three sisters, Freida Jurs, Dorothy Mulhleim, Katherine Thomas; and a brother, Samuel Benning.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb.15, at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, with the Rev. John Bush of the Greenford Christian Church officiating.
Her family and friends will be gathering one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. The burial will follow with a committal service in the chapel of Hope Cemetery.
