John E. Lundberg

COLUMBIANA - Former Chardon, Ohio resident John E. Lundberg, 58, died Feb. 3, 2014, after a brief illness.

John spent his formative years growing up in Columbiana, Ohio, where he enjoyed getting into mischief with his brothers and friends and occasionally teasing his sister.

After graduating in 1973 he attended Youngstown State University. In 1978, he received two bachelor's degrees in engineering and computer science.

He worked as computer programmer for NRM Corp for six years and then with Parker Hannifin Corp in Cleveland, Ohio, for 18 years.

John came back to Columbiana in 2011 to be closer to his family and friends. As a child John attended Camp Ho Mita Koda for diabetics and then became a counselor helping other children cope with diabetes.

He enjoyed white water rafting, golf, computer games and genealogy.

Although never married he enjoyed his nieces and nephews and was the fun Uncle at amusement parks.

He is survived by his mother Betty James and stepfather Bill James Jr.; siblings Victor Lundberg III (Barb), Las Vegas, Nev.; his children, Victor Lundberg IV and T. Ashley Rowan. D. Eric Lundberg(Kim), Indianapolis, Ind.; their children, Duncan (Jr.) and Nicole Lundberg, Brenda Lundberg of Auburn Hills, Mich.; her children, Jarod Casey and Christian Lundberg. Also surviving are aunts, Donna Neidenbach, Fort Thomas, Ky., and Libby Bedell, Louisville, Ky., and many great nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Victor E. Lundberg Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at First Christian Church in Columbiana.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the First Christian Church piano fund.
