SALEM- Alice Evelyn (Eddy) Weber, 100, of Salem, passed away peacefully Jan. 18, 2014, at The Circle of Care nursing home in Salem. She had been a resident of Gracewoods Assisted Living Center in Salem. Alice was born on Oct. 6, 1913, in Graux, W.Va., daughter of Richard and Katherine Eddy.
Mrs. Weber was a homemaker and a Red Cross volunteer for many years. She was a member of Salem First United Methodist Church, the Salem Senior Citizens and Salem Area Retired Workers.
She enjoyed reading, gardening and playing cards with her neighborhood card club for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death on Aug. 30, 1982, by her husband John M. Weber, whom she married on Dec. 31, 1966.
She is survived by her daughter MaryAnn (Daugherty) Holisky of Greenford, her granddaughter Melanie (James Jr.) Lanterman of Austintown, her grandson Larry (Krista) Holisky Jr. of Greenford and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, four sisters, three brothers and son-in-law Larry Holisky.
Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Salem in her honor.
There will be no services per her request, as her long-time wish of having her body donated to Case Western Reserve School of Medicine was honored.
