SALEM - Robert Gordon Gray, 97, of Salem, died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the Salem Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Salem, a son of the late James Lee and Nora (Gordon) Gray.
Mr. Gray retired in 1979 as a die maker from American Standard where he had worked for faive years. He had previously been employed at the former Mullins Mfg. as a die maker for 40 years.
His wife, Melba (Dole) Gray, whom he married Oct. 27, 1939, preceded him in death Dec. 6, 2010. A brother, Richard Gray, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Paul Dennis (Helen) Gray of Mount Vernon, Iowa; a daughter, Jo-Carol Gray of Salem; a sister, Jayne Harsh of East Rochester; a brother, Donald Gray of Alliance; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Hope Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Moore officiating.
There are no calling hours.
