LISBON - The man accused of shooting another in the lot behind the Night Court Bar on Jan. 21 appeared for a preliminary hearing Thursday in Columbiana County Municipal Court. Alexander Brauning, 27, Meadow Wood, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury on a charge of felonious assault for allegedly pointing a .45 caliber handgun at Ethan Hood and attempting to shoot him.
A Feb. 6 preliminary hearing was set for Joshua D. Crooms, 24, Water Street, Salineville, charged with burglary. Crooms is accused of entering the home of Lori and Abby Pierson to retrieve his personal property without their permission to go inside. Additionally, Crooms reportedly has a no contact order with Abby Pierson.
A Feb. 13 preliminary hearing was set for Joshua W. M. Ayers, 21, Main Street, Leetonia, charged with receiving stolen property after he was allegedly found driving a stolen ATV during a traffic stop near the intersection of Depot Road and state Route 45. Additionally, a pretrial was set for Ayers on citations of riding without safety equipment, lighted lights required and obstructing official business for allegedly telling Perry Township police a friend loaned him the ATV; he only knew the friend by his street name, which he would not provide; and he did not know where the friend lives.
Lisa A. Delp, was fined $500, credited with one day served in jail and required 50 hours community service for theft for for attempting to push a shopping cart out of the Salem Walmart without paying for 98 items valued at $515 on Dec. 13.
Dylan A. Patch, 20, Massillon, was fined $550, had his license suspended for 180 days, was credited with one day served in jail and required 25 hours community service for underage consumption and marijuana possession.
Cora Day, 19, Canton, was fined $400, credited with one day served in jail and required 25 hours community service for underage consumption.
Carrie J. Palmer, 52, state Route 45, Leetonia, was fined $200 and required 20 hours community service for passing bad checks, which was amended from a felony to a misdemeanor. Palmer wrote a $2,500 check on May 21 for a pickup at Performance GMC, which was later returned for insufficient funds.
William T. Martz, 24, Rose Drive, Lisbon, was fined $200, credited with nine days served in jail and required 30 hours community service for disorderly conduct amended from domestic violence for punching Chelsea Martz in the back on Jan. 21.
Dawn M. Lutz, 31, Youngstown, was fined $150 for no license amended from driving under suspension.
Valerie Rendziniak, 49, Votaw Boulevard, Lisbon, was fined $250 and required 20 hours community service for driving under suspension.
William R. Yekel, 50, Warren, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.
Richard J. Gulan Jr., 51, Steubenville, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.
John Bricker, 66, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was fined $150 for unsafe vehicle amended from speeding.
Robert R. Zion, 70, Georgetown Road, Salem, was fined $130 for speeding and a seat belt violation.
Mark Lewis Sr., 55, Walnut Street, Salem, was fined $100 and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension.
Lester D. Lovett Jr., 21, South Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 and had his license suspended for 180 days for possession of marijuana.
Ryan Dissell, 41, West Grant Street, East Palestine, was fined $100 and required 10 hours community service for driving under suspension.
A Feb. 21 pretrial was set for Sherry E. Scarabino, 54, Commerce Street, Wellsville, cited with violating a temporary protection order for allegedly making several calls to David Ulbright, whom she has been ordered not to initiate contact.
A March 3 pretrial was set for Joan I. Gluck, 87, Youngstown, cited with hit skip and failure to control.
A March 4 pretrial was set for Danielle L. Walters, 36, state Route 344, Leetonia, cited with hit skip, assured clear distance and a seat belt violation.
A March 11 pretrial was set for Danielle E. Price, 23, state Route 534, Salem, cited with OVI first offense, marked lanes and speeding.
An April 28 pretrial was set for Whitney M. Mercer, 28, West Maryland Avenue, Sebring, charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly pawning a necklace for $200 on Dec. 5 at Cashland after the necklace along with a gold eagle charm had been stolen.
A driving under suspension citation against Josie M. McKinley, 20, Slater Road, Salem, was dismissed on a motion of the prosecutor.
A driving under FRA suspension citation against Brandon C. Craig, 19, West Pershing Avenue, Salem, was dismissed on a motion of the prosecutor.
