SALEM - Marie (Hewitt) Kidd, 80, of Salem, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Wheeling, W. Va., a daughter of the late Wiley and Elsie (Plants) Hewitt.
Marie had been a homemaker who enjoyed babysitting for years. She was an avid quilter and loved making doilies with names on them as wedding gifts. She also enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Ross "Lucky" Lindbergh Kidd, whom she married Dec. 1, 1950, preceded her in death June 21, 2012. Two sisters, Nellie Hill and Geraldine Fisher; a brother, Leroy Hewitt; and a great-grandchild, Kessa Berry, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda (Guy) Klemann, Donna (Michael) Oliver, Dorothy (Jeff) Bailey and Brenda (Howie) Hoprich; three brothers, Clarence, Paul and Dale Hewitt; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kidd officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
