HURON - Cynthia Ann Hippely, 66, of Huron, lost a five-year battle with cancer on Jan. 23 in Stein Hospice Care Center.
Born Jan. 25, 1947, in Salem, she was the only child of John and Dorothy (Galchick) Drakulich.
Mrs. Hippely worked various jobs until she took a full-time position with Famous Footwear in 1990. She became the assistant manager in the Milan store before being promoted to the store manager position in Elyria, and then Sandusky when the store opened. She retired in 2012 after 22 years with the company.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Hippely Jr., whom she married on April 27, 1968; parents, John and Dorothy Drakulich of Huron; two sons, Jeff (Lee Ann) Hippely of Huron and Jason (Jaime) Hippely of Sandusky; and five grandchildren.
At her request cremation will take place.
A short memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Huron Township Conservation Club, 2121 Huron Avery Road, Huron. A reception will follow until 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870; or to Seidman Cancer Center, 701 Tyler St., Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
