BELOIT - Neal W. Baum, 84, passed away on Jan. 26, 2014, after an extended illness.
Neal was born in Applecreek, Ohio, the son of the late Royal and Mary (Brown) Baum on Jan. 10, 1930.
He was an Alliance High School graduate and was self employed and worked at General Electric Appliance Center. He attended Bethel United Church of Christ and was a long-time member of the choir. He was a former member of Mile Branch Grange and served as Columbiana County deputy. He enjoyed bowling, music, and was a member of First Emmanuel Church of Christ Kings Quartet.
He is survived by his children, Chris (Shelly) Baum of Cosby, Tenn., Laura Poffenberger (Meg Pomeroy) of Canton, Ohio, Joel Baum of Beloit, Janet (Henry) Miller of Brewster, Ohio, Kathleen (Ronnie) Blevins of Alliance, Ted (Tami) Mohan of Zanesville, Ohio, Cindy (Murry) Barber of Rootstown, Ohio, James (Tracy Zehnder) Mohan of Randolph; two brothers, Larry and Royal; four sisters, Shirley, Betty, Carol, and Marydell.
He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his late wives, Jeanette (Bowhall) Baum, Shirley (Hoffman) Baum and Jessie (Bircher Mohan) Baum; two sisters, Ilene and Donna; a brother, Roger; and grandson, Shawn M. Sollers.
He was cremated with memorial services to be held Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Bethel United Church of Christ.
Friends and family may call at 6 p.m. with services starting at 7 p.m.
