VENTURA, Calif. - Julia Jean (Sosenko) Skowron, 91, of Ventura, Calif., (formerly of Salem and Poland) died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday at her home.
She was born on Feb. 2, 1922 in Leetonia, the daughter of the late Michael and Johanna (Figura) Sosenko.
She was Catholic by faith and was a member of the Our Lady of Assumption, and was a surgical nurse prior to retirement.
She is survived by her siblings, Margaret (Harold) Sanor of North Georgetown and Steve (Patty) Sosenko of Hanoverton; four grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on July 22, 1994 by her husband, Frank T. Skowron, and a son, Frank E. Skowron.
Services will be on held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. The burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
There will be a time of visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am Monday at the funeral home.
