SALEM - Edwin R. James Sr., 77, of Salem, died at 1:54 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Regional Medical Center's emergency room.
Born Feb. 1, 1936, in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Raymond James and late Louise (Potter) James.
Mr. James lived in this area for the past 16 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte (Batkins) James, whom he married April 12, 1958; three sons, Dennis (Renee) James of Mt. Clemens, Mich., Edwin (Christy) James Jr. of Bluffton, S. C., and Darrin (Kim) James of Salem; a daughter, Debra Donnelly of Fairborn, Ohio; a sister, Alta-May Kibbi of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church in Lisbon with Pastor Mark Wilds officiating.
Following the service, military honors, provided by the Salem Honor Guard, will be held at the church.
Arrangements were handled by the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
