Salem

- An officer responded to a 700 block East Fifth Street home at 9:25 a.m. Friday for a report of an air compressor and 50-foot hose that had been stolen from a second floor room between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

- James E. Burkholder, 50, 174 W. Fourth St., Salem, was arrested for disorderly conduct after police found him intoxicated in the 100 block of West State Street at 2:14 p.m. Friday after being warned against it.

- Police responded to a report of trespassing in the 700 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:58 p.m. Friday and were told that the juveniles in question were at the corner of Eighth Street and Superior Avenue. The officer observed three males and one female, but no one causing any problems.

- Police responded to a South Union Avenue home at 3:13 p.m. Friday where a resident reported her daughter had been harassed while walking home from school that afternoon by two girls who had changed their routines to follow her home. The incident was referred to the juvenile bureau.

- Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue and found a juvenile who had pushed a family member after being told he couldn't go to a friend's house at 4:05 p.m. Friday.

- Nicholas E. Hines, Cincinnati, was arrested on an active nationwide warrant out of Kentucky for fraud after police responded to a 2400 block East State Street business at 5:18 p.m. Friday where he reportedly attempted to return an item he never actually purchased.

- Police responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 6:49 p.m. Friday for a report of a male individual who had thrown a tomato at a vehicle parked in the east lot. Officers spoke with three male individuals who said the person who threw tomato had purchased the items at the store and threw them at parked vehicles, but had already left the area.

- A patrolling officer observed a man down in the 200 block of East Pershing Street at 9:14 p.m. Friday who had to be transported to the hospital for evaluation due to intoxication.

- Officers responded to a Hickory Lane home at 11:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a missing 4-year-old who was located by Perry Township police while officers were talking to the parents.

- Rafael Colon, 37, 660 S. Freedom St., Alliance, was cited for open container after police responded to a report of an intoxicated man in the 1300 block of East State Street at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and found him with an open bottle of whiskey.

- Jonathan J. Abbott, 26, 184 Jennings Ave. Apt. 1, Salem, was arrested for disorderly conduct after police responded to a report of an intoxicated man following down in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue and found him with an open bottle of whiskey at 12:19 a.m. Saturday.

- James W. Hill III, 26, Rankin, Pa., was cited for open container in a motor vehicle following a traffic stop on East State Street at 1:40 a.m. Saturday in which he was a passenger.

- An officer initiated a traffic stop in the 100 block of West State Street at 4:13 a.m. Saturday for turn signal and u-turn violations and found the two elderly occupants to be confused. The officer had them follow him home and then attempted to contact their daughter.

- Nickolas E. Korda, 33, 623 E. Third St. Apt. 1E, Salem, was arrested for disorderly conduct persisting after officers responded to the 900 block of Barclay Avenue at 4:47 a.m. Saturday where he was reportedly chasing a woman delivering papers and persisted in disorderly conduct during the investigation.

- Officers closed the 1300 block of East State Street for nearly an hour at 5:21 a.m. Saturday for a downed electrical wire that was on fire. Ohio Edison arrived and shut down power, at which time the fire extinguished itself.

- An officer responded to the 700 block of East Fourth Street at 9:15 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported his neighbor's dogs had been chasing his dog and prevented him from exiting his vehicle. The officer was able to herd four dogs into the owner's gate using the cruise, but one continued to jump against the gate door, attempting to knock it over, and bite the officer. The owner said she would tell her husband about the incident. The officer warned her that the dog warden would be notified.

- Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:01 a.m. Saturday and found an altercation between two brothers in town visiting their mother. One of the brothers left voluntarily.

- A South Broadway Avenue resident reported at 11:44 a.m. Saturday damage to his truck while it was parked in the municipal lot behind Ezio's overnight. The resident said he found the hood dented, paint peeled and windshield cracked in several places, as well as a metal lid to a large steel drum in the bed.

Columbiana

- Cleaners at Wheel Drive reported fresh footprints in the snow at 3:04 a.m. Friday. The property was secure after investigation.

- Lee Leininger, Hanoverton, was driving through the Oakmont Plaza at 12:05 p.m. Friday in a vehicle owned by Columbiana Auto Supply when he was struck by Laura Kotsch, Rogers, who was backing from a parking spot.

- Chris Hodge, Orchard Court, reported the front door open upon her arrival at 8:19 p.m. Friday. All items were secure upon investigation.

- Larry Baughman, Fairfield School Road, reported the front door open upon his arrival at 8:50 p.m. Friday. An officer found apparent neglect in securing the door.
