CANFIELD - Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Lane Family Funeral Homes Canfield Chapel for Barbara Allison, 81, who passed peacefully early Wednesday morning at Briarfield Manor.

Barbara was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Kinsman, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Wilma (Phelps) Kindel.

She graduated from Canfield High school in 1950. She was a member of Canfield Presbyterian Church, a VFW member with the 9571 Auxiliary, and a member of the 1805 Chapter of T.O.P.S. Her biggest support was for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where she was a chapter president. She dedicated her life work to taking care of her son Mike whom had cystic fibrosis, and spent many hours of fundraising for the foundation. She also won the Cool Woman award for her time and dedication to the organization. Barbara and her husband also volunteered for many years for Meals on Wheels.

Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all of their events and activities.

She leaves behind her two sons, Richard (Donna) Allison of North Jackson and Donald (Debbie) Allison of Canfield; her grandchildren, Rebecca, Dale, John, Nick, Donnie, David and Dino Allison; her great-grandson, Ethan Allison; her sister, Judy Toth; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Allison, whom she married Oct. 18, 1952; her two sons, Robert and Mike Allison; and her siblings, Jessie Bishop and Mike Kindel.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 and from 11 a.m. until the time of services at noon Saturday, Jan. 11, at Lane Family Funeral Homes Canfield Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 5410 Transportation Blvd. Suite 5, Garfield Heights, Ohio 44125; or Tri-County Autism Society, 25 E. Boardman St., Suite 230, Youngstown, Ohio 44503.
