SALEM- Police arrested a Salem man Thursday night for intoxication charges following a one-vehicle crash on the east side of town.
Marlin R. Catlos, 51, 664 E. Sixth St., Salem was charged with theft, disorderly conduct by intoxication and failure to control after officers responded to a report of one vehicle crash at Cunningham Road and Bentley Avenue at 8:52 p.m. and determined he had been eastbound on Bentley Avenue and failed to make turn onto Cunningham Road, driving over the curb and into a ditch.
Officers found Catlos, who had fled the crash scene, at the rear of Walmart at 10:04 p.m., extremely intoxicated and uncooperative. He reportedly had taken a bottle of vodka from the store and drank before officers could stop him.
While on station Catlos reportedly made threats to harm himself and was transported by his request to the hospital for evaluation.
