SALEM- Glenn Herbert Paulin, 89, of Salem died at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in the emergency room of the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Green Township, Ohio, son of the late Herbert H. and Mabel M. (Dustman) Paulin.
Glenn was a clerk at Salona Supply Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1980, and had also worked at the former Mullins Manufacturing. He sold poppies for the V.F.W. and the Disabled American Veterans for 25 years.
He was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, Life Member of VFW #892 and Life Member of DAV #122. Glenn served in the U. S Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Gallagher) Paulin, whom he married Sept. 9, 1950; sister-in-law, Frances (Charles) Thompson of Hanoverton; and several nieces and nephews.
His sisters, Ethel Shinn and Betty Symons, and a brother, Emory Paulin, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Ross Jackson officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hope Cemetery with military honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
