South Range BOE to meet Monday

BEAVER TOWNSHIP- The South Range Local Board of Education will meet in special executive session at 7 p.m. Monday for the purpose discussing bargaining unit contractual matters. No action will be taken. The meeting will be held at the South Range Board of Education Offices located across the street from the school complex at 11375 Columbiana-Canfield Road.

The 2014 organizational and regular meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the K-12 facility High School Band Room at 11300 Columbiana-Canfield Road.

Singles Group cancels meeting

LISBON - The Area Singles Group has canceled its dinner meeting on Thursday at the Chef's Table.

Saxon Club selling krapfen

SALEM - The Salem Saxon Club is selling "krapfen" (Saxon doughnuts) on Jan. 11. Cost is $7 per dozen. To order call 330-337-0250. The order deadline is Jan. 4. Krapfen orders may be picked up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 11 at the club on Newgarden Road. A light lunch will also be available during pick-up times.

Psychology scholarship offered

YOUNGSTOWN - Applications are being accepted for the School Psychology Program-Dr. Frank R. O'Block Scholarship. This scholarship was established by Dr. Frank R. O'Block in 2013 to assist Youngstown State University candidates in the YSU School Psychology Program.

Applicants must be a currently enrolled full-time candidate in the YSU School Psychology Program, must have completed at least nine graduate hours of the YSU School Psychology Program, must have a minimum 3.5 GPA in the YSU School Psychology Program.

Applications for this scholarship are due Feb. 1 each year. The applicants will be notified in writing regarding the selection of the award. This award will be publicly announced at the annual honors convocation in the spring of each year, and the award will be distributed for the following fall and spring semesters.

Blood drive set in Leetonia

LEETONIA- The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Leetonia Community Public Library. If you donate a pint, you will get a 2-ounce sample brick of Dunkin Donuts coffee and a coupon for a free pound.
