Margaret “Marg” R. Hall

LEETONIA- Margaret "Marg" R. Hall, 92, passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2013, at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.

Mrs. Hall was born July 24, 1921, in Salem, a daughter of Martin and Kathryn Heltman Roth, and had lived in this area all of her life.

Marg was a homemaker and very active in her church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Leetonia, where she taught Sunday School for the nursery age children and was fondly known as the "Cookie Lady." She was also a 50-year member of the Salem Saxon Club Branch 18 and the Saxon Retirees.

Her husband, Glenn D. Hall, whom she married July 24, 1939, died March 26, 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Patterson of Leetonia; two sons, Richard (Charlene) Hall of Leetonia and Ronald (Barbara) Hall of Columbiana; her grandchildren, Christopher (Rhonda) Hall, Stephanie (Brian) Raneri, Brenda (Robert) Foor and Jeanne Patterson; great-grandchildren, Dustin Cole, Jacob and Lily Hall, Nick Raneri, Jessica, Tyler and Allison Hall, Robbie Patterson, Anna and Daniel Foor; and a brother, Martin "Butz" (Mary Ann) Roth.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Hall; a grandson, Kevin Hall; four sisters, Hedwig (Hattie) Loop, Mathilda (Tillie) Blazer, Pauline Burton and Hermine Burson; and two brothers, Henry Roth and Frederick "Fritz" Roth.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at St Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.

Memorial contributions in memory of Margaret may be made to the Beth and Kevin Hall Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 29 Spruce St., Leetonia OH 44431; or Hospice of the Valley, 1120 Village Plaza, Columbiana OH 44408

Arrangements are being made by the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
