Leetonia council to cover insurance costs for workers

December 20, 2013
Salem News

LEETONIA- Village Council Wednesday night agreed to reimburse village employees for additional costs incurred in health insurance coverage.

Council had previously cut health care coverage for the five employees effective at the end of this calendar year. The employees will be reimbursed the excess cost for coverage through the Affordable Care Act for as long as they are employed by the village.

Council also approved the sale of the vacant lot at 56 Elm St. to Brian Cross for $1,750. Cross was the only one to submit a sealed bid for the property.

Additionally council approved $25 gift cards for village employees. Council President Dan Summers said Thursday that he recommended the action as his last motion before leaving council at the end of the month.
