LISBON - Donald Dewayne Smail, 80, of Elmwood Drive, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday at Salem Community Hospital following a recent illness.
Mr. Smail was born May 3, 1933 in Steubenville, a son of the late Joseph H. and Wilda Mae (Stull) Smail, and had lived in the Lisbon area since 1945.
He worked as a machinist at Chester Hoist for many years and also farmed on the family farm with his father. He was a member of the New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Smail served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Norma (Dotson) Smail, whom he married June 27, 1968; and by his sister, Eleanor Eileen Gargano of Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark R. Wilds officiating. Private burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery.
