SALEM - Leo M. Betz, 64, of Lisbon died at 5:18 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 at his home.
He was born March 2, 1949 in Dungannon the son of late Perry and Lillian (Peterson) Betz.
Leo was a self-employed truck driver and previously worked for the former Herron Transfer Company of Salem, the North American Van Line, Burnham Van Service and the Hot Shots Express a division of Jones Motors. He retired in 2008.
Leo was a member of the Winona Friends Church, a 1967 graduate of United High School, and a member of the Lions Club of Hanoverton, the Ambassador Club and the Columbiana and Carroll Counties Historical Society. He liked woodworking, gardening and raising cattle.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary (Shepard) Betz whom he married June 1, 1973; a nephew, Douglas R. Betz of Belleview, Fla. whom they raised; a sister, Josephine Morris of Salem; and a brother, William (Denise) Betz of Lisbon.
Besides his parents, a brother, Roland Betz, preceded him.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Savage officiating. Burial will be at Woodsdale Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
