COLUMBIANA- The Columbiana Women's Club recently installed the 2014 Executive Board which oversees clubhouse activities at its 121 N. Main St. location. Board members include Mary Louise Dicken, treasurer; Dawn Lichtenwalner, co-president; Vaughn Musser, co-vice-president; Cathy Hofmeister and Marilyn Stillwell, co-secretaries; Donna Bekar, co-vice-president; Pat Tingle, co-president; Kathy Reash, membership; Helen Gormley, landscape; and Marla Husted, hostess.

Founded through a bequest by Helen Buzzard, the grand Victorian home serves as a meeting place to benefit of the women of Columbiana. There are currently five member organizations which regularly meet at the Columbiana Women's Club. In addition, activities throughout the year provide enrichment and entertainment for its members and the general public.

Activities for maintenance of the clubhouse include the popular Lunch and Learn monthly series which begins again in the spring and features programs on wide ranging topics of interest, accompanied by homemade lunches prepared and served by CWC members. The Annual Spring Tea and Garden Tour, scheduled for June, includes a traditional tea at the clubhouse as well as a self-guided tour of four featured gardens in the Columbiana area.

A Christmas Luncheon and Home Tour held each December provides a look inside four beautifully decorated local homes as well as the Columbiana Women's Club where a homemade luncheon is served. Gently worn Prom Gowns are featured in a sale each spring, in addition to a geranium sale in May and a poinsettia sale in November. The Next to New Shop, located on the ground level at the back of the clubhouse, also helps provide financial support to the Columbiana Women's Club through the sale of clothing on a consignment basis. The clubhouse is also available for party rental through hostess Marla Husted.

General "Friend" Club membership is $15 per year and is open to any woman who wishes to join the Columbiana Women's Club and its activities. Groups who would like more information about becoming affiliated with the CWC are welcome to inquire at the Club.
