Lisa Lavonne Lane, 42 of Salem, Ohio, formerly of Ashland passed away Monday evening, Dec. 2, 2013 in the Hospice of the Valley following a courageous five year battle with cancer.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1971 in Long Beach, Calif. to the late Archie and Donna (nee Mullberry) Sorrell.

Lisa graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1990. Following her graduation, she went on to earn a degree as a medical assistant from the University of Phoenix.

She worked in the medical field for many years, most recently at the Ohio Eye Alliance as a medical assistant for the past seven years.

Lisa married Harold David Lane Jr. on Oct. 20, 2007.

She enjoyed many things throughout her life including, plastic canvas, crocheting, needlework, NASCAR, cake decorating, and loved to go shopping. Lisa was also an avid bowler.

Lisa leaves behind her loving husband of six years, Harold Lane of Salem; her mother, Vicki Sorrell of Ashland; two sisters, Pamela Baker Sorrell of Dayton and Rachel Sorrell of Jeromesville; one brother, William (Dee) Sorrell of Delaware; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 in the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday, one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9800 Market Street, North Lima, OH 44452.
