WINONA - Hallie Virginia Votaw, 83, of Winona, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Damascus.
She was born July 15, 1930, in Canfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Humes) Zimmerman.
Hallie was a member of the Winona United Methodist Church, a former choir member, and member of the Praise Team. She was a graduate of Greenford High School, a homemaker, a former member of the Salem Square Wheels and an avid bowler.
Her husband, Dwain M. Votaw, whom she married Nov. 27, 1949, preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2006.
Survivors include three sons, David Votaw of Salem, Dwight Votaw of Sanford, Fla., and James (Tammy) Votaw of Wrens, Ga.; a daughter, Debra Cehrs of Salem; a sister, Pauline Barber of North Lima, Ohio; brothers, William Zimmerman of California, Robert Zimmerman of Texas and Donald Zimmerman of Columbiana, Ohio; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Owen officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hope Cemetery in Salem.
