EAST PALESTINE - Carol T. Chick, of Pine Tree Circle, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Hospice House, Poland, where she had been a patient for the past several days.
Carol was born in Fayette Co., Pa., a daughter of the late Dominic and Ida Capparelli Caminite, and had resided in East Palestine since the mid-1950s. She was a graduate of the Mt. Gallitzin Academy of Baden, and had been a licensed beautician, working with her mother in Rochester, Pa. for several years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, as well as St. Jude's Catholic Church, Columbiana, and had been a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Carol had done volunteer work in the Emergency Room at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Medical Center, Youngstown.
She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Chick, whom she had married June 4, 1955. Carol also leaves two daughters, Christina M. Dahmen of East Palestine, and Kathleen (Richard) Stash, Boardman; a son, Daniel Chick, at home; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Chick, in 1977.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home (www.oliver-linsley.com) from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
