CANFIELD - Edna E. Clay, 90, of 7804 Canfield-Salem Road, died at 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at the Crandall Medical Center in Sebring.
Mrs. Clay was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Salem, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Grace (Sneddon) Howells and had lived in this area all of her life.
She married Roger C. Zeigler on Aug. 22, 1940, and they owned Zeigler TV and Appliance for 20 years and Zeigler Trophy and Sports in Salem for 10 years. Roger passed away on May 3, 1991.
Edna was a member of the Canfield Christian Church and their choir. She was also a member of the Salem Music Study Club and the Canfield AARP. Edna shared her vocal talents with the Kent State Community Choir and Tapestries of Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Clay, whom she married Oct. 13, 1992; a daughter, Patricia (Arlan) Coy of Salem, a son, Roger L. (Karen) Zeigler of Salem; a stepdaughter, Karen (Roger) Moore of Portsmouth, Ohio; a stepson, Thomas (Linda) Clay of Prospect, Pa.; two sisters, Wanda (James) Dickson of Columbiana and Shirley (Clyde) Martz of Salem; six grandchildren, Melanie (Dolus) McCormick, Robin (Mike) Crawford, Laurie (Jeff) Sharp, Tara (Brian) Cumbow, Travis (JoAnn) Zeigler, and Trent (Shannon) Zeigler; two stepgrandchildren, Michelle Clay and Jennifer Clay; 15 great-grandchildren and two-great-great -grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home in Leetonia with Pastor Jay Eastman officiating. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
