Rummage sale set at

Heartland Christian today

COLUMBIANA - Heartland Christian School Guatemala Missions Team's rummage sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Columbiana Nazarene Church, 330 N. Elm St.

'Mud Sock' book signing

BURTON - Judy Lennington of Cortland has a book signing at 11 a.m. today at the Burton Library in Burton. Lennington's book is titled "Mud Sock," the true story about her father's early life growing up in Rogers, from 1923-41.

Domestic Violence Awareness Balloon Launch set Wednesday

LISBON - The 2013 Domestic Violence Awareness Balloon Launch kicks off at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Christina Center, 115 E. Washington St. Featured speakers are Elaine Kloss, legal advocate; and Daryl Hersh, Ozer Ministries, and a domestic violence survivor. This event is co-sponsored by the Christina House Domestic Violence Program, Ozer Ministries and Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services. Club funds scholarships

COLUMBIANA - WFMJ Reporter Kate Keller will serve as mistress of ceremonies for the Columbiana Area Business and Professional Women's 10th annual gala style show on Oct. 19 at the Salem Golf Club. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for the silent and Chinese auction and door prize giveaways. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. followed by the style show. "Lunch at a Tuscan Vineyard" is this year's theme. Proceeds from last year's event provided two $2,000 scholarships to area college bound women, one $1,500 scholarship to a Kent State non-traditional student and over $800 for the Christina House. Fashions will be provided by Diva Donations and Impressions by Tracey.

Entertainment planned for SalemMusic Study Club

SALEM - Entertainment will be provided by the Ohio Federation of Music Club's Family of the Year when the Salem Music Study Club meets at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Education Building at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Members and guests are welcome.

Alzheimer Network offers workshop on financial issues

AUSTINTOWN - A seminar on "Legal and Financial Concerns" for families dealing with Alzheimer's Disease will be offered by the Alzheimer Network at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 in the conference room of the Austintown Library, 600 S. Kiwanis Swiss dinner planned at A La Cart Catering

CANFIELD - Western Mahoning County Kiwanis Club is hosting its annual Swiss steak dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Open houses planned by Model Railroad Association

AUSTINTOWN - Model trains of all shapes and sizes can be seen at the Youngstown Model Railroad Association's fall open house from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 2, 3, 9 and 10 and Dec. 7 and 8.
