Ray Sanor will be honored on the occasion of his 90th birthday at an open house reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at the First Brethren Church, 27333 Main St., North Georgetown. Light refreshments will be available. Mr. Sanor was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Freeburg, the son of Earl and Bessie Sanor. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer for most of his adult life. After retiring from farming, he worked at Phil's Greenhouse for 12 years. He is a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army in the Pacific. His hobbies/activities include gardening, bowling, playing cards, spending time with family and friends. He is a life member of American Legion Post 574 and North Georgetown First Brethren Church. Mr. Sanor has been married to Kathryn (Smith) Sanor for 68 years, having wed in June 1945. The couple has six children, Kenny (Sarah) Sanor, Don (Sue) Sanor and Gary (Connie) Sanor, all of Homeworth, Nancy (Gary) Diehl of Alliance, Diane (Mike) Gross of Lakeland, Fla., and Karen Cameron of Salem, as well as 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also has four sisters, Anna Mae (Sanor) Buckman, Evelyn (Sanor) Romigh, Alice (Sanor) Martig, Bernice (Sanor) Blair; and two deceased brothers, George and Floyd Sanor.
