Fundraiser for Allyson Perry

will be held Saturday at IAC

SALEM - Aarrow Disposal and the Salem Italian American Club is hosting a fundraiser for Aarrow owner, Allyson Perry, on Saturday at the club, 250 Penn Ave. Proceeds will help with her medical bills. Perry was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. She is undergoing chemotherapy for treatment and plans to have surgery this month.

Pasta dinners will be served from 2 to 6 p.m. Cost is $7. The band, "Tribute," will play for approximately three hours beginning at 6 p.m.

The event also includes a variety of raffles and auctions. Aarrow Disposal customers wishing to donate items for the auction may call 330-332-1176.

Leetonia Sportsman's Club will

hold Kids Day on Saturday

LEETONIA - The Leetonia Sportsman's Club will hold its 38th annual Kids Day on Saturday at the club grounds along East High Street.

There will be shooting, archery and fishing events for all children ages 6 to 15. Trophies will be awarded to contest winners and raffle prizes will be given away. A wiener roast will also be held. Everything is free of charge.

Registration starts at 10 a.m. and runs continuously throughout the day. For more information call Tom Butch at 330-337-8444.

First Christian Church will

sponsor The Banquet in Salem

SALEM The Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building. Next week's sponsor is the First Christian Church.

The menu offers baked ziti with meatballs, green beans, salad, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and sundaes.

COLUMBIANA - The Crestview Local Board of Education Buildings and Grounds Committee meeting begins at 6 a.m. Oct. 1 in the superintendent's office.

SALEM - United Quilt Guild will meet Oct. 1 at the First Presbyterian Church. The "unfinished objects" session starts at 9:30 a.m., vendors night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the business session at 6:30 p.m.

will serving drive-thru dinners

SALEM - "Chicken on the Run" drive-thru chicken dinners will be sold from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 3, or until sold out, at the First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway Ave. Cost is $7.

sale scheduled for Oct. 5-6

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Women of the Moose rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 and 6 at the Moose Lodge, 129 E. Third St. Everything is priced to sell.

1956 will meet on Oct. 9

SALEM - The Salem High School Class of 1956 will meet for a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club. Spouses and friends are welcome.

Alchemy Acres hosting benefit

spaghetti dinner on Oct. 13

SALEM - Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary will host a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Salem Italian-American Club, 250 Penn Ave. The meal includes spaghetti with meatballs, salad or applesauce, Italian bread, coffee, tea or lemonade and dessert. Cost is $7 and free for children under 5. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at 330-332-4897. The event features a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and bake sale. Carryout dinners are available by calling 330-337-8817. All proceeds benefit the animals at the sanctuary.

Getting Crafty attendees will

meet Oct. 14 at Salem Library

SALEM - Attendees of the Getting Crafty adult craft class will create holiday cards when the group meets at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Quaker Room at the Salem Public Library. All materials will be provided for this class which is free of cost. Registration is needed at or 330-332-0042.

Leetonia junior class sponsoring

express trip to New York City

LEETONIA - The Leetonia junior class is sponsoring an express trip to New York City for one day of Christmas shopping and an opportunity to see the sights, including the Rockefeller Christmas tree. The bus departs at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 6, and returns at 8 a.m. Dec. 8. Cost is $100. Reservations may be made by calling 330-427-2115 or 330-831-5578.

Leetonia HS hosting military

appreciation night on Oct. 4

LEETONIA- Leetonia High School will host a military appreciation night at its Oct. 4 home game against Western Reserve.

The game is titled "Battle in the Trenches." Active military will receive free admission and veterans will receive discounted admission.

Military vehicles will be on display, color guard will present the flag and the game ball will be delivered by parachute. The military will be honored in many other ways that evening.
