EAST PALESTINE - Dorothy Thompson Gibson, 89, of East Martin Street, died at 3:58 a.m. Monday at Salem Community Hospital where she had been a patient for the past four days.
Born Aug. 31, 1924, in East Palestine, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Catherine (Macek) Taucher.
Mrs. Gibson had been employed by the former W.S. George Pottery at one time and later with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1506.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Thompson and H. Allen Gibson.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Shimer of East Palestine; four sons, Terry L. (Sherry) Thompson of Dallas, Texas, Joseph A. (Jeanette) Thompson, Daniel L. Thompson and Mark A. Thompson, all of East Palestine; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Christine Kochevar of East Palestine.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home (www.oliver-linsley.com) with Bob Taucher officiating.
Friends will be received from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
