SALEM - Virginia E. Stiffler, 88, of Salem, died at 6 p.m. Sept. 18, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital.
She was born March 4, 1925 in Salem, Ohio, a daughter of the late Wesley and Ruth (Clark) Hanna.
Virginia was a member of the Highland Christian Church and a 1943 graduate of Salem High School. In recent years, she worked for Home Care Advantage.
Her husband, Charles E. Stiffler, whom she married Nov. 8, 1943, preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2006. Two sisters, Louise Ott and Vera Hanna, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Newbauerand Karen Mlinarcik, both of Salem; a son, Allan Stiffler of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sisters, Norma Jean Hippley and Denise Betz, both of Lisbon; four grandchildren, Nicholas Mlinarick, Danyell Smith, Tonya Condit and Tiffany Beaumont; and three great-grandchildren, Danny Smith, Danalyn Smith and Chloe Condit.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the Highland Christian Church. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Woodsdale Cemetery.
