September 15, 2013
Salem News

Ed Lee Jr., left, and his father, Ed Lee Sr., of Akron, secure their boat on the launch ramp at the Salem Reservoir on Saturday afternoon after fishing most of the day. They caught bass, perch that they released and one catfish. It was the first time the two fished at the reservoir which closes for the season on Sept. 29. It will hold its second annual bass tournament next Sunday (Sept. 22). Prizes will be awarded for the top three places with $75 for first, $45 for second and $30 for third place. Winners are judged on the total weight of three live fish at weigh in and all must be weighed at the same time. No stringers are allowed and live wells are required. There is a $20 pre-registration fee and $25 entry fee on the day of the event. For more information, call 330-332-5512. (Salem New photo by Larry Shields)
