EAST PALESTINE- Betty M. Stanley, 76, of Kirk Road, Columbiana, died Sunday morning at the Circle of Care in Salem where she had been a patient.
Mrs. Stanley was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Beaver Falls, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Rhoda Coy Houp, and resided for most of her life in this area. She had been employed with Electrical Refractories in East Palestine as a finisher for 23 years prior to her retirement.
Her husband, John R. Stanley, whom she married Nov. 5, 1955, preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1996.
Betty is survived by four daughters, Diane (Mitchell) Porter of Wellsville, Denise Stanley of Salem, Karla (Angelo) Saldierna of Cerro Gordo, N.C., and Kimberly Stanley of Tabor City, N.C.; a son, John M. Stanley of Maiden, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Nancy Stanley of Columbiana and Ruth Grizzly of South Bend, Ind.; and two brothers, Melvin Houp of Arizona and Robert Houp of East Liverpool.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Naylor of Emmanuel Faith Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
