Police investigating series of break-ins

August 18, 2013
By KEVIN HOWELL - Staff Writer , Salem News

Goshen Police are battling a series of break-ins in Goshen and Green townships the past week.

Police Chief Steve McDaniel said his department is investigating multiple incidents and has increased patrols and detectives on the roadways. He declined to provide specifics of the break-ins due to the ongoing investigation, but reminded residents to be aware of suspicious behavior.

"Residents need to be aware and report any suspicious activity, suspicious persons who might be walking around on their property," he said. "Neighbors need to watch other neighbor's houses for suspicious activity, as well."

McDaniel said the culprits are striking mostly during the daytime hours at homes in both townships, but had not entered Beloit as of Friday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the break-ins or wishing to report suspicious activity should call the Goshen Police District Detective Bureau or the chief at 330-332-0547 or the office at 330-332-1235.
