EAST PALESTINE - An Alice Street woman is out on bond awaiting a pretrial hearing on charges she endangered her children while shoplifting in Boardman.

Morgan Parker, 26, pleaded not guilty Friday to the child endangering and theft charges in Mahoning County Boardman Area Court.

She appeared before Judge Joseph M. Houser, who scheduled a pretrial hearing for Oct. 1.

WKBN, the Journal's news partner, reported Parker left her 10-month-old son and 3-year old daughter inside her car for nearly an hour while she attempted to shoplift from Walmart. Although Parker paid for some groceries, she had reportedly attempted to shoplift a Browns shirt and a pair of earrings.

She entered the store at 2:14 p.m. Friday and was detained at 3:06 p.m. Her children were released to their father after Walmart security checked on them inside the vehicle, according to WKBN.

The weather was partly sunny and in the upper 70s that day.
