Jarvis participates in leadership camp

CARROLLTON - Members of the Columbiana County Farm Bureau youth were part of over 92 Ohio Farm Bureau youth and Future Farmers of America members and advisors who recently attended Ohio Leadership Camp held in Carrollton at FFA Camp Muskingum.

The students were able to attend camp through a scholarship sponsored by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Inc. of Columbus. The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation has been a sponsor of the Ohio FFA for 53 consecutive years.

Area scholarship recipient from West Branch High School was Hannah Jarvis.

On hand to present the scholarships were Maddy Buschur, president of the Ohio FFA Association and Darrell Rubel, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation director of learning delivery.

While at camp, the FFA/Farm Bureau youth members took part in leadership training sessions, which were conducted by National FFA leadership development staff. Through various activities the campers experienced the importance of leadership, teamwork and diversity in a group setting.

This was enhanced by the camper's participation in the Living History: Underground Railroad Program and FFA Camp Muskingum's Co-Initiative Course.
