FINDLAY - Betty J. Frederick, 88, formerly of East Palestine and New Waterford, died late Sunday afternoon at The Heritage where she had been a patient for the past several months.
Born Jan. 11, 1925, in East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Bertha L. Jones Wise.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.
Her husband, James W. Frederick, whom she married Dec. 4, 1948, preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah R. (David) Simms of Girard; two sons, Raymond L. (Debbie) Frederick of Findlay and Randall D. (Tina) Frederick of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Thelma Lower of Homeworth, Ruby Ford of Belleair, Fla., and Bonnie (Hubert) Congo of New Waterford; and two brothers, Raymond Wise of Tiffin and Howard L. Wise of Wellsville.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home in East Palestine (www.oliver-linsley.com) with James Ostick of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the time of service.
The family has asked that material tributes take the form of contributions to her church.
