Salem reports

- Police responded to the Newgarden Avenue and Arch Street area at 2:39 a.m. Saturday for a report of numerous people in the road yelling at each other. Police located three people who were friends on the sidewalk. One had a bloody nose and said his friend elbowed him after an argument. He refused medical treatment and pressing charges and photos were taken of his injury. All the people were sent on their ways.

- Police responded to the 400 block of E. 4th Street at 3:22 a.m. Saturday for an intoxicated man who had gotten separated from his friends and was unaware of his location. Police gave him a ride home.

-A woman came on station at 5:58 a.m. Saturday advising that her ex-boyfriend was harassing her with phone and text messages. She was advised of the options.

-Police responded to a three-vehicle chain reaction accident in the 1800 block of E. State Street at 4:26 p.m. Friday in which Jacob K. Polen, 317 W. 13th Street was eastbound and struck the rear of the vehicle operated by John C. Bleakley, 940 Hartley Road, forcing him to strike the rear of the vehicle operated by Michelle L. Allison, 17641 state Route 644, Salineville. Polen was cited to juvenile court for failure to maintain the assured clear distance accident. His vehicle had disabling damage while the other two vehicles had minor damage.

-Police responded to the Southeast Boulevard and Fairview Avenue area at 6:53 p.m. Friday in response to a report of a vehicle operating in a reckless manner but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.

-Police responded to the 400 block of Sharp Avenue at 10:33 p.m. Friday where a woman said she was receiving unwanted calls and text messages from her husband. She was advised of the options.

-Police were unable to locate a disturbance or source for a report of possible shots fired in the 300 block of W. 7th Street at 11:03 p.m. Friday.

-Police responded to the 100 block of W. 7th Street at 2:29 p.m. Friday for a report of a woman lying on the sidewalk. An ambulance responded and it was learned she was walking to her doctor's office and tripped over the sidewalk and fell. She was transported to the hospital.
