LISBON- Doris Mae Ewing, 81, of state Route 172, passed away at 9:17 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Ewing was born Oct. 9, 1931 in Minerva, Ohio, a daughter of the late Chester and Erla (Hirst) Haynam, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
A 1949 graduate of Minerva High School, Doris Mae was a homemaker and faithful member of the New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Iva Chapter; and the Lisbon Grange. Mrs. Ewing was also a cancer survivor.
She is survived by her husband, James W. "Jim" Ewing, whom she married June 12, 1949; sons, James C. (Maryann) Ewing of Lebanon, Ore., Curtis A. (Tedi) Ewing of Homeworth, Ohio, Roy B. (Kay) Ewing of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and Tracy D. (Carol) Ewing of Salem; sisters, Elizabeth N. McLoney of Carrollton, Ohio and Beverly Walker of Minerva; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the New Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, 36022 state Route 518, Lisbon, Ohio with the Rev. Donna Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the New Lebanon U. P. Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home and from 10am until the time of services Tuesday at the church.
