East Palestine BOE to meet

EAST PALESTINE - East Palestine City School District Board of Education's regular meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday in the elementary school media center.

EP Library sets magic show

EAST PALESTINE - Jim Kleefeld will present a magic show at 1 p.m. Monday at the East Palestine Memorial Public Library to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program. All ages are welcome. Grand prizes will be awarded after the show. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the East Palestine Library. For more information call 330-426-3778.

West Branch BOE to meet

BELOIT - The Board of Education of the West Branch Local School District will hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the West Branch High School Media Center, 14277 Main St. The purpose of this meeting is to consider the second of two resolutions; to place a school district income tax on the November ballot and consider any other matters that come before the board.

Canfield AARP meeting set

CANFIELD - Canfield Area AARP #3104 will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the Canfield Presbyterian Church. Blood pressure screenings will be available from noon to 12:45 p.m. A program will be given by Debra Liptak, director of Public Relations of the Youngstown Public Library. Reservations are being taken at 330-533-4413 for the Sept. 17 bus trip to Warren, Pa., Kinzua Dam and Elk Country; Oct. 9-12, a fall foliage trip to Kentucky with a dinner cruise on the "Spirit of Jefferson," two shows at Renfro Valley and venues in Kentucky Horse Country, 330-337-7133. Non-members and guests are welcome.

Southern Local BOE to meet

SALINEVILLE - The next Southern Local Board of Education meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in room E136 in the high school.

Salineville Kiwanis to meet

SALINEVILLE - The Kiwanis Club meeting begins at 7 a.m. Tuesday in the Kiwanis building. An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 10. Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Carryouts are available.

Columbiana 1961 breakfast set

COLUMBIANA - The Columbiana High School Class of 1961 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 10 at the Skyline Diner in Salem.

Afterprom meeting planned

COLUMBIANA - All Crestview junior parents are invited to the afterprom meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the middle school pavilion.

LEETONIA - The Leetonia Junior Class Prom Committee meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the high school library. All students and parents are encouraged to attend.

Kaiser retiree breakfast set

SALEM - Kaiser/National retirees and past employees plan to meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8 and 22 at Adele's Place.

Food distribution planned

COLUMBIANA - Oasis Food Ministry will distribute free food from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at 22 at the First Christian Church, 39 Cherry St.

Guilford Lake fish fry set

GUILFORD LAKE - An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Guilford Lake Ruritan Hall on Route 172 at Hanna Drive.

Tullis reunion planned

SALEM -Descendants of James and Roxanne Tullis will hold their annual reunion at noon Saturday, Aug. 10, in pavilion one of Centennial Park. Those attending may take up to four items for the 1 p.m. white elephant auction. Dinner will be served at 4 p.m. The meal and table service will be provided.

Music featured at dinner

GREENFORD - Musical entertainment will be featured during dinner at the Smokehouse Restaurant in the Bobcat Center Gym, 7600 W. South Range Road. Ravenwood will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 9. NEW WATERFORD New Waterford High School Class of 1955 plans to meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 14 at the Taste of Country restaurant in Lisbon.

Stage Left plans auditions

LISBON - Stage Left Players is seeking a cast of mature teens and adults for its upcoming, season opening production of "Young Frankenstein the Musical." Auditions begin at 1 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Trinity Play House. Those attending are to prepare a short musical selection, provide sheet music for the accompanist, wear comfortable clothing and learn a short dance number.

Craft bazaar set in Sebring

SEBRING - The American Legion Post 76 Youth Foundation will host an Arts, Crafts and Vendors bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 21. There will be a bake sale, 50/50, Chinese auction, food and beverages. Proceeds from this event go to scholarships and local youth programming.
