BELOIT - Galen Clark Culler, 81, of Beloit passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born in Canton on Jan. 23, 1932, the son of the late Beulah VanVoorhis.
Galen worked as a pipe fitter for Columbia Gas and was known by many working with West Branch School's maintenance department. Galen enjoyed being and working with his friends, especially Brian. He liked to go camping with his family, golf, bowling, billiards and shuffleboard.
Survivors include, two daughters Diane Markle of Westerville, Ohio, and Linda Murphy of Damascus; a son, Daryl Culler of Beloit; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Sarah, Elijah Markle, Hannah (Ben) Mars, Josh (Renee) McDonald, Travis (Candice) McDonald, Dakota Murphy, Courtney Culler, James (Haley) Culler, Nicole (Eric) Stull; seven great-grandchildren, Maria, Sophia and Jackson McDonald, Gage, Madison and Mya Definbaugh and Marcie Stull. He is also survived by a brother Richard (Cheryl) VanVoorhis.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Darlene L. (Steele) Culler, whom he married on Jan. 22, 1956, and who died on Oct. 27, 2011.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home in Sebring.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 1, 2013; and the hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
